Feyre is now a faerie, due to being recreated by all the seven high lords of Prythian after dying to save them from Amarantha’s rule. She lives peacefully in the Spring Court with her lover Tamlin, and they are planning their wedding.

But not everything is as perfect as it seems. Tamlin has restricted Feyre from participating in anything that might lead to danger, and she feels locked up in the mansion. Even though she pleads and begs to get out and do something, anything, useful, he will not let her. The trauma from Under the Mountain is tearing her apart, and for Feyre’s wild spirit, being locked up is only making things worse.

And then there is Rhysand. Rhysand is the High Lord of the Night Court, and Under the Mountain, she made a bargain with him. She promised to come with him for one week once a month, and it seems he has not forgotten.

Feyre finds herself being pulled toward this High Lord of the night and his court, and there seems to be way more to it than is known. The High Lord is full of secrets, and Feyre might get the chance to partake in this world. Loyalty will be tested, and so will love. And while Feyre must make tough decisions, something terrible and deadly is threatening all of Prythian and the mortal world, and the high lords sense war is coming.

Who will Feyre stand with when the war arrives? And what exactly are they planning across the seas? And what new powers does Feyre now hold, as a faerie created by the seven most powerful fey in Prythian?

Oh. My. Gosh. Once again Sarah J. Maas leaves me breathless with an ACOTAR book. This book is way longer than the first one and dramatic in another way than its predecessor, but nonetheless captivating. I could not put this book down! (Though I had to because I cannot read 600 pages in one go)

This second book in the ACOTAR series, “A Court of Mist and Fury”, is filled with romance (yes, some sexy scenes), action, drama, magic, and a whole bunch of new, amazing characters! This book got me screaming, cringing, and laughing and had me totally hooked from page one. I love how Maas can make you hate and love her characters and give you the feeling that you personally know them. The world-building continues to amaze me, this time we get to know both the court of Night and the court of Summer better.

This book is both filled with action and drama, but it also discusses important topics. Sexual assault, forced marriage, torture, racism (in faerie form), inequality, abuse of power, and women’s rights are all topics that are weaved into this story of life, love, and war, giving this book not only the ability to entertain, but also to address social issues.

This book is best fitted for young adult readers, preferably 16+ (there are sex scenes as well as brutal incidents). I really recommend this series! It is totally captivating, full of action and magic, and is also really entertaining!

Have a wonderful time reading!
